Pros

work life balance is good

Cons

This company is 100% about sales and marketing. There is little desire or effort put towards building good tech. Everything is rushed, political, hacked together, oversold, and plagiarized from open-source or OpenAI. Also they pay very little in comparison to other tech companies. They would rather pay 10 crappy contractors $100K than pay a single competent developer $500K and that is why they will never be great.

Pros

With over 15 years of experience in the industry, I had the privilege of working at Salesforce for several years, and certain aspects stood out, earning the company commendation. One remarkable feature was their dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion, exemplified by their 1-1-1 model. This model not only sets a commendable standard but actively demonstrates the company's commitment to its values. Salesforce articulates these values and endeavors to live by them, creating a positive work environment.

Cons

However, the sentiment began to shift in 2021 as Salesforce, like many organizations, embraced a 'Woke' approach. The shift towards prioritizing hiring based on unique social values and biological differences, rather than merit, professional background, or skillset, had consequences. This change coincided with a pivot towards a 'high performance culture,' seemingly prioritizing the bottom line over employee well-being. In the CSG department, the consequences are particularly evident, with leadership decisions appearing inept and skewed. Unfortunately, deserving individuals have been overlooked in favor of those who merely check certain diversity boxes. The organization's struggle with trust is disconcerting, as leaders openly acknowledge their affiliation with specific groups, influencing their decisions. Speaking out in this environment is often met with accusations of hate or bigotry. Despite my deep love for Salesforce and over 15 years of industry experience, leaving the company was one of the most challenging decisions I've ever made. I remain apprehensive about the future success and growth of Salesforce when the executive team seems focused on the bottom line, while other leadership prioritizes personal attributes over professional qualifications. The path for growth seems limited unless one fits into a specific category.

Pros

This was one of the worst organizations I've ever worked for in my life. They have no problem hiring you for one role, only on day one to tell you that you are moving to a new team, with a new manager, into a new role that is "undefined." The only pros about this company are the pay and the benefits. It's literally the ONLY reason people stay at Salesforce.

Cons

I have never worked at an organization that is so confused as to who they are and what marketing is. No solid chain of command. Reorgs every couple months. People over extended. Literally bait and switched into a role I didn't want and wasn't hired for. Even upon my last day with Salesforce, I still didn't have an actual job title or role, and I had taken the job at Salesforce for very specific reasons. If you are fine just making a large paycheck and checking out, then this company is for you. If you actually care about what you do, working with strong marketers, and having a career path AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
