Pros

The hours are there. They will never send you home if there isn't anywork. Benefits are great, paid education for example. There are opportunities to grow and get another position. They have not problem helping you find another department or another store, if it isn't working out for you. Opportunity for growth and advancement is there, which is great!

Cons

Low pay, management will push you to work harder and do better because the managers make excellent bonuses the better the store does. Managers aren't there to help you, to mentor you, to help you grow in your professional field. They run through associates so fast, they don't care to help people. If certain associates in leadership like you, you can avoid some rules and not get in trouble, if they don't like you, they will throw the book at you and write you up no problem. Micromanaging is crazy. A team leader will tell you what to do, then a manager will tell you what to do which will be different, then the store manager will walk by and tell you something different to do. No communication inbetween management.

Pros

Free membership and friendships you make with co workers.

Cons

Working at Sam's Club has been really disappointing. The managers keep bothering us to sell memberships and credit cards but don't give us anything in return except a "good for you." Full-time workers at the front end can only work morning or night shifts, with no options in between, which makes it hard to balance work and life. The attendance system is unfair; if they ask you to come in early and you do, you still get in trouble with points. 5 points is automatic termination. They also don't accept notes from doctors, so if you're sick, tough luck. The way they give out paid time off is terrible too. If you want to have a social life, don't work here. The managers are lazy and only care about themselves and how many memberships they sell. The only good things are the free membership and making friends with your co-workers.
