Pros

-Slightly better than average pay for retail stores -Employees receive a free Sam's Club membership -Very easy to get a job there

Cons

-Poor, "computer-based" scheduling. You'll often get closing and opening shifts back to back, good luck staying on any kind of healthy sleep schedule. -Pay is significantly less than their leading competitor Costco. -They are understaffed to cut costs. -Management often lies, takes credit for others' work, will vanish for long amounts of time -They cut hours all of the time, sometimes they'll send people home early half way through a shift to cut costs. -Management will change shifts for their friends, but give everyone else the run-around if they try to change theirs. -You'll spend two days learning all of Sam's Club's policies with their computer-based modules, then find out the day you actually start working that just about everyone violates the policies, nobody cares. -Almost all of the employees are stressed out, do as little as possible and throw each other under the bus. -They expect all departments to push customers to upgrade their memberships. -No overtime, ever. People get fired for going a minute over 40 hours. -The way the store is run is flawed. Cashiers get swamped and the floor never finishes because 3 employees are always waiting for and escorting forklifts all day long.

Pros

Great at accomodating family responsibilities-starting pay is great-great yearly bonus-if you kiss tush, you'll get great promotions-a very team work atmosphere-the member comes first

Cons

Raises are terrible, management over looks hard workers for promotions based on who their favorites are, too many chiefs and not enough Indians so to speak, the teamleads and associates run that store and are constantly instructing the managers on how to do their job, or the managers are so lazy the teamleads just do their work for them.
