Pros

working on specific project, international experience was added bonus, staff seemed have real desire to work with you and help out as needed. Morning time with staff was great!

Cons

Travel on weekends, driving to airport in Charlotte to fly out, and working around international schedules.

Pros

The people you work with are very nice and understanding. The work is very meaningful and you have many opportunities to get involved in volunteer work.

Cons

Very conservative organization. Strict rules and spiritual pressure to conform to a certain standard of spiritual life. The organization is run from the top down, almost like a dictatorship style of leadership. Not as much collaborative process because what the president says goes no matter how creative you might be or no matter how amazing your ideas are.

Pros

Company Culture is about having boots on the ground first after a disaster or other event. They are very relational and family-oriented - and conscientious about meeting the needs of hurting people. Overall, they entrust a great deal of responsibility to their employees - and provide great working opportunities.

Cons

They have gotten involved in disaster follow-ups at times without consulting other organizations. This kind of "ready, shoot, aim" approach rubs more traditional NGO's the wrong way.
