Pros

Competitive Salary and excellent benefits if you can stomach the work culture. (Negotiate well in advance, once in there is very little to be gained) Some products are quite good and given what a horrible place it is to work, brand has surprisingly good global rating.

Cons

Overall chaotic and toxic atmosphere. There are incomprehensible processes that are unchangeable, management is paranoid, HR is a disaster, US teams have very little authority to act independently so work feels more like a factory line than a place of innovation. Anyone who has worked here has heard or witnessed the absolute nightmares of HQ dispatcher behavior. Given the troubles at the top at HQ, it isn't surprising .

Poor Culture

Business Outlook

Pros

You get access to latest technology

Cons

The culture needs work, employees are often rude to each other and a lot of employees have large egos including executive leaders. Samsung is not a collaborative environment rather everyone tries to throw someone under a bus (this is the attitude of senior leaders as well) Korea wants to take over US operations and is slowly doing so. Leadership says they are fast paced, however, it's more of being fast because everything is late due to poor planning and getting things from Korea late. Further, the company processes of getting approvals to start a project are long making it impossible to be fast. PTO needs work, you start with 20 days including sick days and only major holidays off. Office hrs are 9-6 which they don't tell you until your first day. Reviews are tough and they make it really hard to get high scores and you are rated in comparison to your team members which doesn't make sense and contributes to a competitive negative environment. Career growth is also hard and HR policies are not consistent, its easier for a non full time employee to get a role than for a full time employee. This is a very high stress environment that will burn you out really quickly. Think really hard before working here, actually look elsewhere it's not worth your time.

Culture Clash Makes for Horrible Environment

Pros

Big brand with recognizable name Big budgets

Cons

Everything you would imagine in any big organization but the real warning is that Korean leadership clashes horribly with a North American value system of integrity. Do not expect to be treated with any level of respect and there is no such thing as work/life balance.
