Pros

Industry Leader Owner truly cares about the company and employees High job security Casual, laid back environment Weekly remote day in IT Set your own hours The owner

Cons

Lack of successful strategy and vision in IT Disconnect between business units and IT which leads to off the mark projects Lack of expertise in the middle management ranks SDLC needs a major overhaul. Improperly structured IT department Need more devs Certain mgrs are taking micro-managing to a whole new level Some mgrs just don't know how to really connect with their direct reports and get the most out of them. Like the headline says, we need an IT guru to come in and make this a well oiled machine. **Lately IT leadership has become obsessed with this website and almost all unfavorable IT related reviews have been removed

Pros

-Casual environment, good location with nice employee perks like good deals on clothing and a company gym. -Training ensures that even the least tech-savvy among us can become competent and even excel at our jobs. -Work at home program for call center helps reduce a potentially expensive commute.

Cons

-Very cliquish, especially among the management/supervisors/trainers at the call center. -Major favoritism is shown there too--if they like you, you can get away with nearly everything. If not...well, you best watch out because they might find a reason to let you go. -New PTO policy favors the healthy and the childless. If you book a family vacation for eight months from now, you'd better hope you or your kids don't get sick, or you are faced with the option of either losing your job or having to cancel plans you already paid for--EVEN if the trip was already approved.

Perception is not reality

Pros

The company overall is solid. It has plenty of dedicated people and exceptional owners working to make it a good place to work and a great company to do business with.

Cons

The one glaring flaw at the company is the IT department. Everyone knows there are problems but instead of focusing on them they are focusing on perception. Perception is not reality. Too much time is spent trying to spin every failure into some sort of accomplishment or opportunity. There is a lack of leadership so there are many mission statements, strategies and posturing, but still nothing is getting done.
