      IT is a nice place to work

      Pros

      The people at SanMar are nice. The policy is to be nice. Most people follow the policy...most of the time.

      Cons

      There is complete and utter chaos in the IT department. There is a lack of communication between groups in IT and other groups in IT, as well as between IT and the rest of the company. There are power point presentations with lots of pictures and very little content. People need leadership and they expected it 9 months ago when management changed. Where are the changes and where are the pods?

      Privately owned, managed and operated for many years Successful and growing business and the future is bright Positive changes, especially in IT New roles and opportunities for advancement, especially in IT Many projects and new things to learn, especially in IT

      Cons

      Benefits are ok and could be much better High turnover in the CCC Many old time employees resist the changes

      Basic mindset of IT is flawed.

      Relaxed atmosphere. Good employee discount. Benefits are decent.

      Cons

      Very little accountability for anyone in IT. Change is generally feared. General approach is very reactionary. Few, if any, processes in place. Mid-level management is disinterested in many cases and completely incompetent in other cases.
