Pros

you get a paycheck every two weeks

Cons

Where to even begin? I mean of course they’re always restructuring themselves but somehow it’s never enough. Too many cases, not enough people or not enough trained people. It lacks management, care, and quality is not put in the work. At this firm it’s just trying to keep up. In the two years I worked there in the beginning there were lots of resources, great benefits, amazing attorneys willing to help, and people actually enjoyed it for a bit. A few weeks passed and there was high employee turnover (both attorneys and paralegals) and there was no way to keep up. I always feared for the attorneys because there is NO WAY clients aren’t submitting grievances. This firm lacks in every single department. I started to give up on this firm months ago because all they state are empty promises. Even the benefits aren’t as good anymore. It’s a shame because the people that are actually keeping it afloat deserve so much more than this place. It’s honestly disappointing and is the most disappointing firm I’ve ever worked for. I would never work at a place like this again. Then again, if I wouldn’t have it would have been a lesson learned. I guess if you need a job quickly, they’ll hire anyone. Good luck!

Pros

The Paralegals are the ones keeping this company afloat. Kudos to all of them. Specially my supervisor paralegal. You're required to have a very temperate temperament to take on all the BS they throw at you. The paralegals are the real heroes of this place.

Cons

All the 1 star reviews are real, nothing fake, nor there is not a drop of resentment, many of the reviews seem like I wrote them. How lucky I am to see that I was not wrong. Maybe they fired me because they would think that I wrote some of these reviews when in reality I had no knowledge of this page until last Wednesday or Thursday when one co-worker started reading the reviews out loud and I was shocked at how I didn't know about this page or these reviews. If I had known, I probably wouldn't have applied for the position, but hey, here I am. In my opinion the real problem here is the lack of immigration knowledge by the attorney, the poor organization, the lack of communication and the internal slander/defamation. I’m a person that follows directions. I go by the rule that’s written. Everyone knows the law is the supreme rule on the earth and we must all abide by it. However, in this company, everyone makes their own rules causing chaos and confusion among employees. In my personal case, despite having several years of experience in the Immigration field my managing attorney has zero experience in immigration. This caused frictions every time I tried to explain something that was wrong. They just don’t listen and blame others. I tried to be more empathic trying to blame the company for not offering the proper training but I ended up realizing it wasn’t the company the problem but management . Management makes inappropriate jokes about other workers, deliberately accusing others without evidence, calling people names like lavaperros? IDK even know what's that and so many other things that are considered bullying in the workplace. Apparently management saw me as a threat or took my advices as insubordination; I’m not quite sure yet but what really blew my brain is was how sad is seeing another employee being manipulated by a manager to point of making that employee to make a false statement or defamation which is the same. It’s also sad to read the client's reviews online and the responses the partners give to the clients online. I have never seen something this sad. I have never seen a company reply to a client online with the despotism and sarcasm with which this company responds to customer reviews. It is very sad. Apparently the reviews are answered by the owner himself, which shocks me a lot, because he sold the staff the image that customers are the most important thing, however online, I see the responses to the reviews under his name, it has me confused. I’ve never been employed in a company where it is mandatory to download WhatsApp into your phone with your personal phone number and join company’s created chat groups (among many other apps) smh. That’s a violation of people’s privacy. Well yes, it’s mandatory and if you don’t do it, you’re more than welcome to leave the company. Where in the world? They don’t pay for your phones nor your lines yet you have to disclose your personal phone number with all the company? That was a master red flag for me. As soon as you accept the links to join the group chats you start getting scam phone calls. Weird right? My advise would be, don't apply here. I wish I knew about this glassdoor website earlier; I was so blinded by the good Indeed reviews. HR will never be on your side, like never, as friendly as HR can look, it is not. Look around, see people faces, if they look older than what they really are, RUN!!!

Pros

You get a lot of experience very fast… Some might say too fast.

Cons

- attorneys bear the burden of signing as many new clients as possible to pay for a giant in-house marketing team and failing offices in other states, among other things - new clients are signed to the detriment of existing clients - no standard operating procedure (you will inherit a case that 3 other attorneys have been assigned to previously that has 5 different documents saved as “passport” but somehow they’re all passport photos and not a copy of the client’s actual passport) - no organizational chart to let people know where to go for specific issues (probably no point because of the high turnover) - “partners” who only vaguely understand the concept of leadership and who really like the idea of being in charge - I have heard (though did not observe myself) that Gunther berates paralegals, calls them names, and acts in other ways to demean employees - unethical - you will be berated by judges because of the firm’s (in)action - can’t tell clients to run the other way or to hire anyone else - I do not remember a week where there wasn’t a missed filing deadline or court appearance
