Great job for entry into the world of work
Pros
Coworkers were for the most part great, there were cliques but for the most part people were friendly and would help you. There was a big push in 2020 for more training modules and management developed one that is good. The work itself isn't too demanding and is pretty routine once you pick up the skills and for the most part most of my calls would be 30-45 minutes. The people you'd be helping are pretty good, there were only a few that I dreaded speaking with but for the most part they were pretty grateful and appreciated learning. Beta testing, I never did partook in it because I didn't really have a need for automatic lightshades and couldn't afford a TV that connected to the internet but if you wanted to test equipment at home on your own time they were pretty open to it.
Cons
The pay, especially if you live on Cape Cod is not going to get you far. They really bank on the people working overtime after shifts and if people didn't there could be some passive aggression from management. A lot of tickets and not enough staff, the support queue could get pretty backed up and if you were on last shift it was your shifts job to clear the board. Not bad if the previous shifts had enough people but if it was a busy day and people had called out then you were in for a long night. A lot of turnover made it hard to have a solid group of people to help manage the queue. Management really leaned on senior techs to take on extra responsibilities without any serious increase in pay.
