Pros

You feel like you are part of a team and the organizational culture is very encouraging. This is particularly helpful for young people starting out their careers. I would recommend this place to work.

Cons

Interview process can be a little long because of background and reference checks. They only employ the best so you have to prepare very well for the assessment and interview stages.

Pros

Getting to work with a wide range of people through volunteering, I especially enjoyed interacting with older members of my community and hearing their stories. Working towards a common goal.

Cons

Sometimes as a volunteer you may feel you're working very hard for an outcome you're unsure about, you have to remember most contributions are towards long term goals. Also, stress of dealing with rude customers in retail - but not being paid to do so! Takes a certain level of determination to be a shop volunteer.
