Pros

Some nice managers who seem to genuinely care about their employees. I worked with mostly great people who were maybe a little down on their luck. The discount of 50% off most items was awesome.

Cons

People don't wash their clothes before donating, so get ready for blood, urine, feces, semen, and dead animals! This will probably be the dirtiest environment you have ever worked in (while in retail). The dust bunnies swept up every morning are the size of people and when you blow your nose at the end of the day your snot is literally black. If you work in Production (back room) as a sorter, your hours are non-negotiable. We worked 7am-usually 5pm Tuesday-Saturday. You could not leave unless EVERYONE was finished, even if your area was perfect. The only reasoning for this was a snarky "we are a team!"

Pros

I don't have any pros at all other than the 50% discount. That's literally the only plus.

Cons

I can't help but vent about my previous employer. Never have I ever in my life worked for or witnessed a company that treats their employees so badly. I worked for the company for 13 months and it was the worst 13 months of my life. The entire management team with the exception of one manager is beyond corrupt and selfish. The working conditions are terrible, the management talks poorly about employees behind their backs and makes up rumors about them. The thoughts, feelings and concerns of all of the employees are disregarded. When the annual reviews came around, they were based off of the manager who wrote the review's personal feelings of each employee and had nothing at all to do with their work ethic. The store manager couldn't care less about any of the employees personal lives or how they are treated. When I showed favoritism for one of my managers, my hours were cut nearly in half and I was given a review that was not a all based on my performance- it was at this point that I had enough and quit my job. I had worked as a manger there for a brief time before I gave up my position because of mistreatment and poor pay. During this time, I had tried to call out due to a family emergency and my manager had a melt down and when I came in she said "thank god, I almost missed my hair appointment." And on another occasion this manager had a meltdown because I wouldn't skip my graduation practice to cover her shift so she could go to a concert. I handed in my two week notice on that day. Working for this company made me seriously depressed to the point that I almost went to a mental hospital. Multiple of my ex coworkers have expressed those same feelings. I honestly don't know, how the company as a whole treats people. I only know how the management at this specific location does an I can tell you that if cooperate had witnessed everything that went on in that store, there'd be an entirely new management team. I had a manager that favored a coworker of mine and would sit in the break room and eat snacks with this coworker and talk for hours- on the clock. I'd be denied a break so they could talk and hangout. This company is bull. It's about time that someone speaks out about it.

Pros

discounts on already cheap stuff fairly easy job

Cons

managers don't care about their employees no comunication or organization among managers in the store managers don't listen to team members, don't even listen to supervisors or other managers managers who are never in the store to see how busy it gets are the one cutting hours making it impossible to run the store. managers are lazy and never leave the office. Never want to close the store never want to be the only manager on duty. Put everything on supervisors or other team members. unrealistic expectations for production (ridiculous goals), usually not enough people working to make numbers and roll products out slackers don't get punished and hard workers just get more work assigned to them CDC, recyclers and truck unloaders are overworked and always understaffed
