Pros

-discounts -flexible schedule -make friends easily

Cons

-this job attracts mostly people that dont have a high work ethic that is needed -recyclers are informed that this is a high stress job and of their duties but sometime more than others u are asked to go above those duties for the same pay. Examples: 1. down stacking multiple carts (7-8) to unload the same amount off a truck with no space available. 2. also recyclers have such a high turnover rate that is hard to keep a full recycling staff which adds more stress on the recycler. 3. extremely dirty workplace. often times trailers full off houseware, glassware, and other miscellaneous items are delivered to stores and the recyclers are in charge of unloading them. these trailers are usually packed and, when inspected on the inside, resembles nothing more than a trash trailer with broken glass covering the floor 4. often times recyclers are required to unload trucks with "product" that is wet due to rain showers and/ or pissed on by cats, dogs, homeless people, etc.

Pros

pros- helpful coworkers management friendly and easy to talk to flexible schedule, and time off when needed ability to work more hours if desired dress code is fairly casual job duties are straight and to the point

Cons

cons- training is lacking is some aspects, employees have to learn a lot from other hourly employees and not from computer training or management showing them how to do something. lots of time on feet- but this is a fact of life for retail. list of duties expected to complete each day even if on register all day. hard to handle job duties and customers at same time. store must be in opening day condition by end of night which means you could end up staying longer to clean up and organize merchandise.
