Pros

Amazing opportunities, health care, retirement plans. Even though I know that its not a definite thing, bonuses are given every year around Thanksgiving. Daycare is a little expensive but is on site under the gym and health center that are provided for free.

Cons

Current new hires are getting paid more than I am right now after having 4 years of experience at the company. This affects my raises on a percentile basis, so would be nice to see a leveling of wages.

Pros

1. Decent benefits like health insurance, catered friday lunch and tution reimbursement for furthering ones education. 2. The company gives customer discounts during natural disasters and is part of other charitable donations for causes like education, food security etc. 3. Lots of good training materials available for self learning for newcomers in the industry. 4. Whole lot of talented individuals who really want to excel in their job.

Cons

1. Salary is on the lower side when compared to industry standard. Most people who work here are based in eastern WA\Idaho where there are not many other companies like SEL they can choose from. So they have little to bargain. 2. The turnover rate is quite high, with new grads available from local schools. 3. In the yearly appraisal process you get a fixed raise of 2-3% no matter what your performance is. 4. The middle level management seems micromanaged by the top executives and lacks specific direction to steer the company towards a path of success. Decisions are made to please somebody in the top management and not what the situation demands or what is right for the company. 5. This company has really grown in size in the last 4-5 years particularly. But the management outlook of the company hasn't changed much since their inception years in early 90s. Managers are mostly chosen from people having good technical background and zero managerial prowess or training. They have very little understanding of man management, resource allocation or hours estimation. This has to be compensated by employees working overtime and most projects run behind schedule and cost deadline. 6. There is a serious lack of communication among different departments which cause severe road blocks to project. 7. It is a very small college town without a proper restaurant, bar or nightlife. If you are single this might be a very mentally depressing place to live in. Worst winters. HR/Management can promise a lot about raises and promotions, but won't keep them, saying from personal experience.

Pros

Decent free lunch on fridays. Good benefits

Cons

Poor work life balance. Hard to grow your career. Lots of Group think. Nepotism runs the company, promotions are given based on who is friends with who, family members are promoted rapidly without merit. People are often handpicked for job opportunities giving outsiders little to no chance. HR recruiters will hire friends and family first often passing over more qualified candidates.
