      Lost Direction with Terrible Management

      Pros

      Decent benefits, used to be a focused company with fantastic feeling of teamwork and common goals. Still stable employment, nice small university town.

      Cons

      Terrible middle management that takes it's lead from the top management. Middle management is promoted based on technical skills not leadership or management ability. It is a culture of micro management. If you want a place where your skills and ability are constantly questioned and corrected this is the place for you! 100% ESOP company, which means nothing. Ed sold all of his shares to the employees 5 years ago, but make no mistake it is still 100% Ed's company. It's nice to be King and have it both ways! Oh, yea pay on the low side for skilled positions!

      Pros

      Stable company that's growing. Very customer focused. Employee stock purchase plan. Facilities are well maintained.

      Cons

      HR is an obstacle, not an asset. Top management can't think for themselves, but have to ask "WWED?", what would Ed (founder, president) do? Supervisors don't seem to get the training they need .Way too much time spent tracking and graphing and not enough time spent acting (supervising). So much focus on "SEL values"! Every company has values--yours weren't brought down from the mount by Moses.

      Pros

      Flexible hours. Good benefits. I feel like management will work with me towards my career goals. They are also paying for me to attend college classes and work towards a degree.

      Cons

      Work life balance. Sometimes I am pressured to work overtime. Project deadlines are sometimes unmeetable.
