Pros

Cool tech, mostly cool people, You get a sense that your work will actually help people

Cons

CEO (Max Hodak) plays favorites and it's not even subtle. He will yell at people during meetings which makes it super awkward. He has this idea that hardware can iterate at the same speed as software. Same catered food all the time (expect chicken and rice everyday). You're expected to work on weekends to complete projects.

Pros

At times, it behaves like a well funded startup, so you get to use some nice equipment. If they can stay on target, the product would help humanity. It is not a good environment, but it is reasonably interesting.

Cons

I watched several world class scientists slowly decay and burnout due to the inconsistent decisions of the founder. It is common for people to quit without having a job lined up, and in this climate, that should tell you something. This mission sounds promising, but project execution is not good. At all. This is mostly stemming from the hostile style of the founder. Most of the negative reviews here are fairly accurate, and the positive ones are largely fake- in an effort to improve the rating here.

Pros

- the team I work under is very supportive. Everyone is always willing to take the time to explain and teach me new concepts (especially crucial for me as a newly grad working with senior scientists) - working in a fast-paced environment means you get to learn so many things within a short amount of time. this helps build up a resume and be able to say you have experience in a wide range of areas. - I enjoy the fact that we dont need to do a traditional "9-5" day. as long as we show up to meetings and get our work done youre solid!

Cons

- going back to the fast-paced environment pro, it can also be a major con. there are days where I worked 12 hour days and that led to a lot of burn out - projects and priorities do change a lot
