Terrible Leadership and Culture

Pros

Free food. Other employees are wonderful people - just leadership is terrible.

Cons

The culture and leadership at this company are deeply toxic. Overtime is treated as an expectation rather than an exception. The head of software, head of software product, and the CEO consistently demonstrate poor emotional intelligence and often project their frustration and anger onto employees. It’s an unhealthy work environment, and I strongly advise others to think twice before joining.

Pros

The office has great views of the Oakland estuary.

Cons

The leadership appears to have imported surface level patterns from their previous company without understanding what made those patterns effective. The result is a confused and schizophrenic top-level vision, poorly thought out project scope, and a non-existent incentive structure. The culture is really, really poor.

Pros

Salaries and benefits are decent; the Alameda campus is nice (even if isolated); free lunch/snacks, but they're a pretty low bar for a tech company.

Cons

The biggest con is the ego at the leadership level - massive assumptions are made with very little subject matter knowledge. Culture is virtually non-existent.
