Pros

Culturally there is a strong focus of providing the right balance of quality of life for employees while maintaining a strong focus on customer success and happiness. There is a flexible time off policy, and the benefits are great. Employees are encouraged to deliver results by getting ownership in the company. Every full-time employee is given stock options.

Cons

Adoption of the ScienceLogic platform has always been high, but it continues to accelerate. This is creating some strain as several departments try to ramp up to the demand. Management is aware of the issue and has articulated plans to address, but you should expect to sometimes wear multiple hats (perform different roles) and occasionally have to push hard to meet a deadline.

Pros

I feel so fortunate to have found this company. It's small enough to avoid being slowed down by the bureaucracy of large corporations but large enough to have the stability you want and need. At HQ in Reston, there is a mix of offices and cubes, and though I realize some people don't like the cube-life, I think it makes for a very open and communicative environment, especially when you are new and have a lot of questions. It also makes it a LOT easier to get to know your coworkers. Everyone is tremendously welcoming, helpful and friendly. There are a lot of fun company activities for people to get to know each other throughout the year (summer bbq, Nats games, holiday parties, chili cookoff, halloween costume contest...just to name a few) and plenty of internal training available to help you ramp up in your position. The management team takes interest in knowing the employees personally, especially Dave Link, the CEO, who is perhaps the nicest, most sincere person I have ever encountered. The benefits and salary are very competitive, as is the personal leave policy. The company takes pride in recognizing people's contributions to the team which in turn creates a real sense of camaraderie and self worth. I can't imagine working anywhere else...they are going to have to kick me out the door to make me leave!

Cons

As with all small companies that are quickly growing, there are areas that need to be tightened up procedurally. Too often things are handled on the fly as "one-offs" which simply isn't scalable. That said, you can see the work being done across all departments to shift from a more reactive position to a proactive one.
