You learn how to be self-sufficient for sure, You might meet people who will make lovely friends or help progress your career (heavy on the might), There is never a shortage of work

Cons

Lack of support from management, no opportunities for advancement, empty promises, No hazard pay in a pandemic, no PTO till your one year anniversary, About 2 hours sick time granted every pay week, inclement weather and unscheduled days off are not paid, will be assigned work outside of your job description,

Pros

Healthcare benefits, flexible shifts, casual dress

Cons

I've been here for 6 months since the pandemic started and already I've had my check shorted three times, I've had 8hrs of sick leave vanish without a trace. I haven't received any training while my supervisors have received bonuses to which we haven't even received hazard pay. HR brought us pizza in response to clearing the same backlog that earned our supervisors (Who leave early every day) received a $1,000 bonus. When two people in the building contracted COVID-19 and caused the building to be closed for cleaning, we were forced to use our own sick leave to cover the difference. In my personal situation when I was informed of the situation in the building I still opted to come to work, even though the next day I was told by my site manager not to come to work. My personal sick time was still used for this. I have been informed that we will have to use our own time for Christmas Eve as well, even though the federal government is closed and not one of my co-workers would be able to report to work if they wanted to. The one time HR did come to my site (amongst union talks) they didn't even address any of the concerns of their employees. We are dangerously overworked and underpaid and I have heard talks of a strike in the past few days. Pray for us.
