Pros

- good work/life balance if you dont mind working evenings and weekends - fun programming - positive mission

Cons

- volunteers treat professionals like crap - politicization of Scouting (mostly volunteers) who hate progressive values - seasonal overtime can get overwhelming - easy to get buried in work if not organized - shrinking organization and membership makes it hard to plan career there

Pros

Good office staff. People care and are great to work with in the council.

Cons

The culture is weird and gate-keepy. Dudes in the OA are barking at you all the time. Pay is not the value of having a position that you do the job of 5 men with no staff to work under you.
