Pros
The BSA is an extremely successful youth program. Youth are taught values and ethics in an environment of fun and adventure. I believe in the values of the BSA and will do all in my power to take it forward. I get to see youth grow and reach potential that would otherwise be unavailable to them. I enjoy working in an environment where everyone has the same goals and are driven to excellence because of the value of the company we work for and not for their own selfish reasons. It makes a difference working with mostly volunteers as well, as I get to see people who are dedicated and honest.
Cons
Since I do work mostly with volunteers, I can't always be in control of those who work under me. After all, how do you fire a volunteer? Also, because we are non-profit, money and benefits are definitely not the top reasons to work for the BSA.
