Pros

Working with the kids/volunteers is the only redeemable part of this job in my opinion. Helping with training Starting new units

Cons

Contacting volunteers can be hard in rural areas because they have had poor experience with past scout executives. Poor hours Poor pay Ridiculous expectations - "goals" and "making volunteers" do things No company credit car - Expectation to carry any incidental charges(fuel, ink, paper) until you receive compensation a month later Built in advancement crippling Dont think outside the box, very little innovation Expect "Yes men" Scout Executives/District Directors can lay blame for their incompetence Scout Executives will belittle other employees in staff meetings Scout Executives have no prior experience as a volunteer
