Pros

Great office building casual dress work from home one day a week summer hours great people good starting pay I had awesome bosses my entire time there I had some great buying teams that I worked with With it being such a large company, there is a lot of opportunity for growth in your career. Just remember, you are in charge of your career, not anyone else.

Cons

Long commute if you live in the city no raises bonus impossible to make in most areas unreachable goals leads to lower morale allocation system antiquated Sears and Kmart systems are still different several years post merger no 401K match no investment in the stores poor communication not allowed to make decision effecting YOUR business, always being told what to do according to how senior management wants to see things. Usually it isn't realistic and when you don't hit what "you " said you were going to hit, you have to explain and can't use the reason "that's what I was told to enter in". in apparel, buyers are located in San Francisco which makes it very difficult to create a team environment, it becomes Inventory Management VS Buying. and the 3 hr time difference creates problems and sometimes means late hours to meet the demand of the buyers. The company is still stuck in the old ways of doing business. No innovation to advance the company.
