Pros

The benefits that the company offers its associates is OK when compared to similar employers. Sears does listen to its employes when items are brought to the attention of Human Resources. Sears complies with OSHA and ISO standards very seriously.

Cons

It is very business like. It does not have the family feeling that small companies afford. Employees that know how to "work" the system at Sears can make it very difficult for other associates to get their work completed. At times it can be like a government agency.

Pros

The mid-level management is competent and recognizes that due to the company's situation it's necessary to give people the opportunity to expand their skills and find new opportunities. Management is open about the company's problems, and it's rather refreshing.

Cons

The compensation package that was offered wasn't even close to what I had been offered elsewhere. To be honest, I only accepted the job because it was in Chicago and I had been unemployed for ten months prior.

Pros

The customers and most of the co-workers keep me coming back to my job. As a part time worker I get virtually no benefits other than company matching my 401k contribution.

Cons

Cheap company with no job security. Many well-established employees with the company have been fired on a dime sometimes being passed the blame by upper management causing them to get fired.
