Pros

The training was really good and in depth about Medicare

Cons

They lied about commission, they cut our pay, they just want numbers and to get them they encourage agents to do things that go against agents integrity. They are now making agents gather names and numbers of other people in the clients household so it's another person they can harass. They say that we are there to help people, but when we do try we're only allowed to help them buy something, no matter if it is a bad sale and won't actually be helping the correct, but hurting them instead. They say they don't cold call, but they do pay other companies to cold call for them. Clients will have gone through 3 people before they get to the agent, people who tell them we are Medicare. The commercials are bait and are misleading. I went in with such high hopes to succeed in the company, but there are so many hands in your pockets that even if you sell your butt off, you don't make nearly enough as you can elsewhere. If you go to SelectQuote, read every single word of every single document you sign, possibly have a lawyer read it too... Because if you sign that dotted line, they own you, your clients and all of your commission if you choose to leave. Oh and also, for a company that sells insurance, for a family of 4 your insurance is basically one whole paycheck.

Pros

Training is informative, you’ll learn a lot about Medicare.

Cons

-leads are not inbound (lied to from my interview) -0 accountability from management -this AEP the system crashed everyday because they updated so much right before the busiest season -$19 per policy sold, way below industry avg -Min wage hourly -expect to log into work and randomly have an email from upper management expecting people to memorize new scripts that day, if you don’t, it hits your QA score and you lose more of that $19. -They review 5 of yours calls every month and score you, which affect your QA. So you only get 19 per policy but they can take more of that away through the QA score. -btw the company makes about $500 per policy -if the client cancels the plan within 3 months you have to pay that back to the company. -after your initial training your left to fend for yourself, you’re fired if you can’t keep up -they call people, “screen” them, and transfer them to you. You expect people with Medicare but they actually transfer you anyone willing to stay on the line. If they don’t have Medicare you’re supposed to transfer them to dental department or life insurance department…and both also affect your pay. - so much more wrong with this company, if you’re looking for a long term career, stay away.

Pros

There are no pros to working for SQ!

Cons

Churn and burn clients and new hires. Was treated poorly through the entire onboarding process but stuck it out with the hopes it would improve. Just got worse. Training was reduced from three weeks to two. Was lied to from the word go. Leads are cold as they get and they have no interest in speaking with you. It's essentially a giant scam! Waisted a couple months of my time and I'm out hundreds of dollars since I quit before getting any reimbursements for licensing and whatnot. If you want to feel like a slave and rip people off then this jobs for you.
