Pros

Great co-workers, nice office.

Cons

This used to be such an amazing company to work for. Now since we have new management, things are on a downward spiral. The morale is bad. Complicated commission plans, unattainable metrics for most months. On the the top "Favorite" agents get the good leads. They will lie and tell you that Tier 1, Tier 2 all the same leads. LIES, LIES, LIES! They actually think we are stupid enough to believe this! Only two managers here who actually care about their employees, the rest could care less. Stop playing favoritism, stop lying and give us all an equal, even playing field. No way we should have to look for 2nd jobs to supplement our incomes. You have agents here that can't even pay their bills. You should be ashamed!!!

Pros

Free leads, ok benefits, work from home. The potential is there to make 100k plus.

Cons

If you don't meet the minimum production, they are quick to fire you. A lot of the people I started with got fired within the first few months. It's a tough job. You must be mentally tough. Some of the leads are good, some are horrible, and a lot are somewhere in between. Your will get a lot of transfers that don't have any interest or that mentally just aren't all there. You will get tired of dealing with some of the types of people that get transferred to you. Management will expect you to be on the phone talking to someone at all times. They encourage you stay working late every single day. It's a call center, telemarketer type of environment. If you are a good sales person there are better places to work and make more money selling insurance. I would say it's a good place to get your feet wet with life insurance, see if it's for you, survive in the environment for one year and then move on to a better opportunity.

Pros

Work from home. I actually have a good manager. I like my sales teammates. You will learn to be a beast on the phones and learn to close.

Cons

Well first things first: They hire you on with a base pay of $18 an hour. Then after 90 days, you are down to $13, the excuse given is your sales will make up the difference (only if you’re the top 20% of agents). 27% pay decrease. Next, you’re sales region will more than likely be the south east United States, which is the poorest, and most uneducated population. These people have zero money, zero jobs, zero ambition, milking the disability system, and are the most unhealthy folks in the country. The way the call queue works is: Level 1 agents: get their sales teed up for them. 50% of the time. They write $50,000+ in business a month. They are making good money. Level 2: writing about 35-40k in business a month and have calls you can close. Level 3: good luck. Maybe 1 out of 10 are closeable. Level 3R: this is a test to see if you can make it out of the first 90 days. Many do not, in fact only 20% of each incoming class is kept. The rest are fired quickly. Failure to meet production minimums is termination, which is expected, it’s sales. Now, it’s plain as day how unfair the commission compensation is. Let’s say you are a level 3 agent, getting 1/10 calls to close, you might write $650 in premium a day. They will only pay you 3.75% of that AP. You will not receive big commission checks, because they have a QA department that’s whole job is to analyze your calls and rate your performance. Oh you missed to gather and email address? 15% of your commission is taken.
