Pros

Great immediate managers, knowledgeable and understanding. The coworkers are all great and it is a family type of environment. We get food every week, and there are prizes given for sales and promotions.

Cons

Terrible Sales Director. Has not sold one policy in his life, does not care about the sales reps, they are all a number to him. The corporate management along with the finance management have managed to systematically replace all the seasoned sales agents with new ones by setting up a tier system where only about 20 percent of the salesforce makes great money, the turnover is very high (they are ok with the turnover). If you say anything wrong they will faze you out into non existence, by slowly cutting your lead flow and quality of leads (this is when good agents just end up leaving). Agents are not allowed to say what is wrong or have an opinion, it is just a metric number system to corporate management, they could care less who you are. They also require all agents to sell other products (id theft and home warranty) or you get your commission lowered. This company is night and day from 4 years ago, again you are just a number as an agent. They have allowed to just have sales cancelled for an infinite amount of reasons just to keep the commission in house. Many newly hired agents leave within 90 days from being on the floor, as a new agent you get nothing to sell, just renters insurance, you cannot sell the good companies. If you are looking to feel like a underpaid robot come work at selectquote. The corporate office was going to send a survey to rate management and when they found out the management reviews would be terrible they never sent the survey. They want to pay you like if you work at a fast food restaurant but they want to demand work as if you work at Microsoft.

Thank you for your candid feedback. We are sorry that you did not have a positive work experience, even if this may seem a cookie cutter response for you. We wish you all the best and we certainly hope that you have better opportunities ahead of you.

Pros

A lot of great coworkers

Cons

Upper management doesn't know what they're doing. Decreasing pay. Micromanagement. They take 1% of your commissions if you don't sell enough ancillary products that have nothing to do with insurance. Such as home warranties, and identity theft. Benefits are some of the worst I've ever had for a company this size.

Pros

If you'd like an honest look at what it's like working for this company I suggest taking a look at the reviews from March 12th and January 14th of 2019. You'll notice a company that averages less than 5 reviews a MONTH somehow managed to get 28 in a SINGLE DAY on March 12th and 14 on January 14th. Now that's pretty unusual in itself, but what's really odd is that out of these 42 reviews: 37 are glowing 5-star reviews, the remaining 5 are glowing 4-star reviews. That has to be a record. This is the epitome of working at Selectquote. I've worked here for a very long time and I can honestly say that years ago it was the best job I've ever had, the best company I've ever worked for, and I would have recommended it to anyone. Sadly, that company no longer seems to exist. In the last few years things have become steadily worse, until they seem to be at their lowest point yet. The top phrase I now hear among co-workers is "sick and tired". They are sick and tired of being asked to meet goals that simply aren't achievable, sick and tired of having to lower the quality of their work further and further to meet these goals, sick and tired of the company valuing "metrics" far above their employees well being. Metrics are God at SelectQuote. In my experience, if you work here: You will be asked to do things that make you ethically uncomfortable (at best) in the name of meeting your numbers. You will sacrifice the quality of your work for quantity, because you'll have to in order to meet those numbers. You won't provide customers the services they pay you for, because you won’t be able to and still meet those numbers. The company has become a bad sitcom parody of the profit-loving, soul-crushing, employee-exploiting corporation. I would never allow them to handle my insurance. From what I have experienced, egregious errors and incompetence seem to run rampant behind the scenes. I’ve been horrified at the mistakes I’ve personally seen, and the consequences our customers have had to suffer because of them.

Cons

You do not want to work for a company that would create dozens upon dozens of fake reviews to offset the overwhelming number of honest negative reviews, so that they can trick you into working for them. That type of company couldn’t make it more obvious how little respect they have for you than to try and deceive you before you even become their employee.

Thank you for sharing your opinion. We are sorry if this might disappoint you but the reviews here are not fake; they are from former and current employees like you. In every sales environment, there is almost always a quota or goal to be met and we have managers who are always ready to lend a helping hand to those who are struggling to meet their goals. The insurance industry that we are in is highly regulated. We have quality assurance procedures to which we adhere. We also have regular and systematic audits that are service, product and compliance related. If there is an error, we address and rectify it accordingly. We are always open to a dialogue so if you have any more feedback, please step forward and talk with a manager or our HR personnel.
