Pros

The new office building is lovely, the training is extensive and fun (especially if you're competitive), and lots of meals are provided. The trainers do a great job getting new agents excited for AEP and you leave training motivated and knowledgeable.

Cons

Absolutely everything else the recruiters and trainers say is a lie. You can make good money if you're one of the very, very few people getting Tier One leads. If not, good luck making rent. It's almost impossible to move up a tier, even though that's not what you're told. If you can do math, you can figure out how to get bumped back up, and it's about as likely as getting struck by lightening. Maybe even less likely. And if you have the bad luck of getting too many callers who don't understand who they're calling, or already have the best insurance for them, or live in a state where you can't help them, you're going to drop a tier. Most of the "inbound calls" you'll get in tier two are people calling for other agents that you have to transfer, or people who were dialed by another company and don't want to talk to you. The agents who are successful here are willing to be very pushy, or even straight up lie to elderly people to get them to buy. You're told there will be so many options for you with the company after AEP, but that's not true either. The few agents who are still there are miserable, struggling, and dropping like flies. If you have a conscious, you're going to struggle here. And if you have bills to pay or kids to feed, and can't wait on a complicated, ever-changing commission schedule, this is not the place for you.

Pros

Steady job income potential very good not as good as when I started but better than Any other Jacksonville companies.

Cons

Consistent favoritism shown daily reminded that you can work somewhere else you don’t have to stay. Managers are scared for their job and have NO power or control. Micro managed and constantly reminded that you can be replaced. Does NOT value the Jacksonville office. Big Frat house and everything is geared toward the men in the office. There is only one female in our office that they value and her birthday was the only one highlighted on our sales TV and everyone knows she manipulates her numbers

Pros

Some very nice people work there and I do believe the training was above and beyond others in the industry. Ted Steinmeyer the Denver office manager is one of the best managers I have ever been able to work under.

Cons

I think many of the numbers we were told about lead volumes and compensation were greatly exaggerated and the amount of people they were supposed to be keeping after aep was greatly exaggerated. I think they somewhat sold a bill of goods when describing the financial opportunity for aep which they said the AVERAGE agent made 35000 in 7 weeks which was far more than was realistic when all was said and done.

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your complimentary remarks about Ted, our staff and training. We always strive to be transparent and upfront in our recruiting and hiring practices. What we communicate is the target compensation in a given period which is different from the average. We also communicate the historical percentage of retention into permanent roles after AEP completion. Last year, the percentage was well north of the historical number. Thanks again and we wish you the best in all your endeavors.
