Pros

Selective values the contribution of all employees. There is a high focus on communicating values and operating with integrity. This company believes in diversity and is working hard to help mirror the demographics of America. The compensation is competitive. Goals are set high with the expectation of achievement but there is little micromanagement. Selective is one of the more financially successful companies in the insurance industry, just look at their stock performance over the past few years.

Cons

At times there are so many initiatives and changes taking place that it can become a little overwhelming but successful companies do not rest on their laurels.

Pros

Local management allowed for autonomy and employees were trusted to do what they needed to do to provide a quality work product. We were given the tools to be successful. The annual bonuses are an excellent benefit of working for this company.

Cons

Upper management did not seem to understand what was going one in the regional offices. The WC Management had unrealistic expectations of what could be done in a normal day and the expectation was that we should work overtime and on weekends to stay caught up. The workloads were crazy.
