Pros

For a good part of my 3 year tenure, it was a 4 stars+ experience. This was due to the small group of co-workers mainly (in office) and the sense of community that came with it. The other notable pros were the flexibility, compensation and benefits, something that more companies locally, are catching up to. Also shout-out to the local HR team in Prague, they really practice a open-door policy, friendly, approachable and knowledgeable.

Cons

The company, being relatively young and still operating largely in a "start-up fashion," embraced the operative motto that things are always changing. That is fine and to be expected. However, I can only speak to the Customer Support space when stating that the whole division was plagued by uncertainty and poor communication from top to bottom, resulting in confusion and backtracking. Managers were promoted under questionable circumstances, leading to a lack of clear leadership skills across multiple teams. Additionally, there is no structured growth plan (very vague), and feedback as a tool or habit is not encouraged, occurring only minimally. Because of these factors, more tenured employees tend to feel tired, frustrated, and passive—something that becomes evident within weeks of joining. Lastly, the office culture pales in comparison to other companies targeting the same age group or industry. There are very few people in the office and even fewer English speakers. The facilities and in-office benefits are not motivating factors, especially after a while. Office parties or activities of any scale are kept modest and low-key. I think this is worth mentioning so as not to confuse it with a lively and vibrant workplace. An extra mention goes to the Customer Support team HR (not based in Prague), who handled my exit very poorly—this alone took a star off this review.

Dear Sender, We truly appreciate your feedback. However, we’d like to offer a different perspective. Our company hosts plenty of fun and vibrant events, and we’re proud of how we promote and celebrate top performers who are eager to take on new initiatives. We also place great importance on our benefits package, which we believe is one of the best in the market. And, of course, our culture is something we’re confident truly sets us apart. That being said, we wish you all the best in your future endeavors. Yours, the Semrush Team

Pros

Great culture, nice people, great office, food, benefits, MacBook Pro, great knowledge to earn.

Cons

No team buildings except office new year gathering, reduced bonuses and expenses for benefits in the most recent year, no clear career development and growth potential, no yearly salary review, it's stuck for years, and you can get 5% increase in two years which is absurd compared to the inflation rates.

Dear Sender, Thank you for your kind feedback and for rating us so highly! We really appreciate it. We’d love to address a few observations from the “cons” section to make sure others get the full picture: - Teambuildings. We’ve got plenty of opportunities to connect and have fun! Along with two big official events each year—our End-of-Year celebration in December and Company Birthday in August—we also organize monthly office events like workshops, drink tastings, video game tournaments, and more. Plus, every employee has a quarterly Teambuilding Budget to spend on outings with colleagues—whether it’s a bar hangout, museum visit, concert, or anything else you’d like. So, there’s a lot more happening than just the New Year gathering. - Bonuses for the CS Team. Our bonus structure was adjusted to increase the base pay, ensuring everyone has more stable compensation. - Performance Development. We’ve put a well-established performance development process in place. This allows us to assess employees and adjust compensation twice a year, providing clear and fair opportunities for growth. We hope this sheds more light on our processes. If you have any questions, we’re always happy to chat. You can also find more details about our benefits and processes on the Careers website.
