- It's a company that's still forging an identity as it grows and scales. As such, a lot of process that you might find at a more mature and "stable" company doesn't necessarily exist here. That's not to say that no one is working on it, but the reality is that sometimes certain business needs take precedence.
- As I mentioned earlier, if you don't like making mistakes, you won't like it here. There's a lot of onus placed on the individual contributor, and though there's mentorship, guidance, coaching, and all of that available, you are ultimately responsible. You can take that as an opportunity to grow or you can internalize it more negatively. Neither way is right or wrong in my opinion, just different.
- There's historically been a sense that middle management has been lacking here. i.e. not enough managers to manage the teams doing the work. I think that that's a fair criticism, but things have been trending the right way over the past 6 to 12 months. It's not easy building high performing teams in a tech ecosystem like Toronto's. Sensibill's competing with every other tech company for the same, limited pool of talent. With a new VP, Engineering, Dev Managers, and Senior Devs joining us over the past few months, that perceived gap between the executive team and the front-line is closing.
- No dogs/cats in the office.
