Pros

This is a company where what you do matters. Your actions have direct impact on the product and the strategy, your ideas and feedback are taken seriously. It’s great to feel that you are valued and can help the company. Amazing culture and the office. Flexible hours. Management trusts you with work hours and work efficiency. Feel relaxed and motivated to work here!

Cons

Too cautious, product development can take forever. Doesn’t feel like a startup because of that: iterations either don’t happen, or don’t happen fast enough.

Pros

Beautiful office. Great co-workers. A lot of fun.

Cons

There is an extreme lack of skills and experience (even on the management team) in leading, managing, and developing/mentoring people. Career growth and professional development are not considered and not valued.

Thank you for your note - we appreciate the candid feedback. We’ve implemented a number of initiatives in this area - Educational Reimbursement Plan, Transparency Talks, Lunch & Learns, and CEO breakfasts, to name a few - and we’re committed to supporting our Leaders and our future leaders, alike. We hired a Director of Talent & Culture because we understand the need to advocate for our talent and their growth. We’re still learning, too, so we encourage you to connect with the Director, Talent & Culture with your suggestions on ways for us to improve - we’re all ears.

Decent, but has some pitfalls

Pros

Great benefits and compensation. Everyone in the company is also very friendly.

Cons

Prioritization from higher management is sporadic and often lacking technical direction (possibly since the company is missing a CTO). The product lacks a clear usefulness to its end-user, yet minimal effort is spent on innovation.

Thanks for reaching out, we appreciate the feedback. I agree with you that innovation can’t take a back seat to keeping the lights on - and while we were short on Product Team leadership, we did lean into the latter. However, over the last few months we’ve been building our Product Team with experts who have a great track record of launching multiple successful products. What drew us to them is their bias for innovation as well as the ability and desire to execute on a well defined product roadmap. I’m also 100% aligned with you that we need to increase our emphasis on the data products in our portfolio, and not only the end-user engaging receipt management product. This is something that we have begun to prioritize more heavily this year, and the pace of innovation on the data strategy side is accelerating with each quarter. Thanks also for the constructive review; there’s always room for us to keep improving and feedback like yours allows us to grow. I’m happy that you had such a great experience with our team. Making sure we create an equitable and respectful culture is such an important mandate for us.
