Pros

My favorite part of working for Sensible Care is the culture. While it's continuing to grow and branch into new states, it still has the care of a small company. Everyone is really familiar with everyone in each department and you're never afraid to reach out for help because everyone, no matter their title or department, is willing to help where they can! Each supervisor across any department is very kind and the mental wellbeing and success of their employees is a priority. They do weekly/bi-weekly check ins to see how you're feeling, any feedback you might have about how things are going or if there are any adjustments that you would like your supervisor to look into to make your workflow better. Not only do they value mental healthcare for their patients but that care for mental health carries across the entire company into how they treat their employees. You aren't made to feel guilty for needing a sick day, which is a very common practice in many companies. I also really appreciate they value growth from within. Many companies outsource higher roles, but Sensible Care offers these roles first to inside employees expressing interest in the position/department and they offer training and certifications if it is something new for you. After the 90 day period you have access the the many benefits the company provides. I love that they provide a lot of vacation time and you don't have to wait a year to receive it (like a lot of companies do). You start with 15 vacation days and they also provide 1 paid holiday a month. Vacation days roll over annually and you still continue to accrue as long as you don't max out (cap is 120 hours). They also offer a $50/month Gym Membership reimbursement For 401(k), they match 100% of the first 3% of an employee’s pay contributed, and 50% of the next 2% contributed. They also offer Health, Dental, and Vision coverage. They currently pay 60% of the premium for employee health insurance and 60% for their dependents, 75% for employee dental, and 100% for employee vision. Health is through Anthem HMO or PPO. Dental and vision are through Delta Dental and VSP vision.

Cons

My only con is that they do wait until you are in your current position for a year to provide a raise. This means if you move to a new role before your year mark, your year mark will be pushed out resulting in your raise being pushed out. It isn't a huge issue as I do believe the starting pay ($40k) is fair for working remote and for the benefits/growth opportunities.

Pros

I have had a great experience working here and love the people I have met. Everyone on the team is very supportive of each other and we can reach out to anyone for questions. The team uses google chat and communication is always open. The team tries to schedule socials, which are fun, as most are working remotely. If a client cancels it doesn't impact our pay which is amazing. Other benefits: good medical/dental/retirement benefits, a holiday each month, license renewal is covered, CE expense is provided, malpractice insurance is covered, and the staff takes care of billing and admin support.

Cons

The supervisors are open to listening to any new ideas that will benefit the practice and the team, but lately as the company is growing rapidly it feels like business is starting to be prioritized over provider wellbeing in some ways. A major con of the daily expectations is seeing 7 clients back to back and only 1 hour to do all your notes, respond to messages/tasks, consult, and thus leaves little room to research/prepare for sessions in order to do more quality work with clients (this is all to common when working for a group vs private practice). The recent growth is also leading to a lot of adjustments and growing pains -even though this includes some positive changes to protect providers and adhere to best practice- which is adding to the stress for therapists. Lastly, salary needs to be adjusted based on the competition, or at least there needs to be raises based on quality of work and commitment to the company.

Pros

Love that we are a mission driven company. Mental healthcare shouldn't be as complicated as it is, and I'm thrilled to be part of a company that is working to make it more accessible. Our CEO is genuinely invested in the wellbeing and success of every employee, which is refreshing to see. The culture overall is great - people are warm, friendly and don't take themselves too seriously but take the work and our overall mission seriously. Healthcare is decent, 401k matching is amazing, remote/flexible work is perfect, especially during this time.

Cons

With any startup, everyone is wearing multiple hats and juggling many different responsibilities, but as expansion occurs and as the team grows, this will not be an issue.
