Pros

There are mostly friendly coworkers.

Cons

Very poor pay, terrible management, unclean working conditions. They have fired 2 single moms in the past couple of months at this location for being 6 minutes late to work in a busy mall setting with no parking. You also cannot call in sick unless you want to get written up. I have even been written up for being a few minutes late during a snow storm. One manager would say that they aren’t writing people up for being late on weekends or snow days and the next manager would write you up mere days later for being a few minutes late on a weekend day as well as a snow day. Clearly no communication between managers about important issues that greatly effect employees. Insane turnover rate. Awful place to work; I would recommend pretty much any other job over Sephora, you’ll likely be treated better, paid better, and have cleaner working conditions. One of the higher managers at my location treats employees very poorly and frequently makes fun of employees and even calls employees mean names such as “slow” and “stupid” among other things. This is not a place that anyone works at long term and the reason for that is exceedingly clear.

Pros

Personally, the manager over the entire store I worked at was amazing and so willing to meet me halfway You get lots and lots of free products You get lots of education but not nearly as much as you used to Lots of artistic liberty with your hair, nails and makeup You get to literally talk about makeup all day and skincare Sometimes you meet the coolest people The work is fairly easy

Cons

Working with so many females sucks and some of the female shiftleads were horrid people Wearing a headset all day blows The uniform is ugly You CANNOT EVER SIT DOWN EVER unless you're on your VERY short little tiny break and it's miserable You HAVE to wear a full face of makeup daily Customers can be nightmarish and make you hate life The job gets boring If you work full time you literally never get any natural sunlight They will schedule you to work 37 hours so they can consider you part time even though you're basically full time so they don't have to offer you any benefits If you're part time it's really hard to get shifts covered If you're part time no one cares about you or your little needs The pay is pathetic trash You cant accept tips and if you do they have to be turned in to shiftleads LOL You'll probably work with lots of Pick me types The virtual signaling and fake corporate values are demoralizing

Pros

If you're desperate for work then go for it

Cons

They ask A LOT of their advisors and think that snacks in the break room is a big enough incentive. The perk used to be gratis but have really downgraded that over the years. You can expect mostly sample sizes now.
