Pros

-Gratis, but you will get way less than the rest of the cast if you are in operations and not a beauty advisor. -It isn't very hard to get hours, at the moment 8/21/21 post-pandemic there are a lot of hours available and not enough people to work them. -Your coworkers are generally like minded people and like to talk about makeup and other cool stuff. I have not had too many issues with other staff, any issues I've have had only come from management. -Company does have a really good Diversity and Inclusion initiative. They take it seriously and have been paying to have major studies done and do lots of training to help people be better about interacting with clients without bias's. It's actually pretty impressive for them to take it this seriously and have pledged to increase the amount of black-owned business and shelf space in the store and have been actively working to make this happen. -You don't need makeup experience before joining the cast, selling skills and just friendly customer service can get you into the doors. If you do want to start learning to do makeup this is a good place to begin and to network. Coworkers are usually happy to teach and play with makeup with you.

Cons

- You will not work in the role you were hired for. More than half the hours I work are not in an operations capacity like it was when I began a couple years back. - Gratis, if you aren't marked as a 'beauty advisor' in their new gratis program you get next to nothing when they give out the company pulled gratis. Beauty advisors will go home with bags full of stuff and you might few like 3 products. I sell more than I do my own job of backroom stuff and yet I don't get the pay or the freebies that come with that position. If those are things you care about be a beauty advisor instead of Operations. - If you work as an ops member prepare to do lots of work for a few hours and then be asked why nothing is done while you watch your entire floor staff and management team wander around chatting and texting while not doing anything to help clean or stock the store once y'all are open. - No growth. The place you start is where you will stay if they can help it. I was hired on with the promise of management positions that never went anywhere. Do not go there to get any higher, they hire outside the company for management and will never move you anywhere. Leave at the first hint of better pay elsewhere. - Training is nonexistent. I had to go out of my way to teach myself how to do makeup and skincare and about fragrances. Some brands will do 2-minute videos over their brands or a new product every week but that is it. If you don't have makeup experience it is a good place to get tossed in and learn some but you will start at the cash wrap until you know enough to help clients on the floor. You won't be paid any better for learning though. - Not a great company, they fired half their staff before shut down after telling everyone they'd be fine and their jobs were secure. They publicly announced that it was only 'seasonal employees' that were let go but the cut-off was if you had not been there for 3 years yet then you were let go on a mass zoom call with everyone in your store. - It's retail and the customers are generally mega entitled.
