Pros

Sephora really does celebrate anything you do. As a gay person it's sometimes hard to fit in anywhere really especially at jobs. Though Sephora makes me feel super comfortable and amazing. Not going to lie but Sephora has changed my life. MANAGEMENT IS AMAZING AT MY LOCATION.

Cons

Nothing at all, really it's awesome.

Pros

Gratis. Brands contribute loads of gratis so you get to try the product and can speak intelligently to your clients about the product as your selling it. Lots of brand trainings so you are on your A game when it comes to knowledge about the products.

Cons

Annual performance reviews are a joke. The employees and Management have to deal with the low raise scale. People who do less work sometimes get more money. There is some show of favoritism which can be discouraging.

Pros

- You play, learn and teach all things skincare & makeup. - Part of your uniform is wearing make up. - You meet new people everyday. - You're educated on the latest and greatest products, tools & techniques. - There is always something new to learn & teach. - It's a challenging and inspiring career. - Welcomes diversity and listens to our varying ideas & concerns. - Management develops staff to move forward with company whether Sephora or JCP side. - Ability to request days off without management making you feel bad for having a life beyond the black tile.

Cons

- Some employees confuse recognizing high achievers as favoritism. - No set schedule, lots of evenings and weekends (It's RETAIL FOLKS!) - No option to order out of stock products for upcoming shipments. - I lowballed my pay due to fearing I would be passed up for requesting pay representing my experience. When I received a promotion in turn I received bottom dollar. Lesson learned. :D - Labels low performers and doesn't invest effort & time in turning them around. (I know it's a business & not babysitting. I think we can do better as a team to uplift those struggling, instead of giving up.) - To advance you must learn the numbers & business metrics which can be difficult with limited office time to navigate the system.
