Pros

My store has worked with me through so many transitions in my life. When I needed fewer hours, done. Needed time away. Done. Moved temporarily. Moved to inactive scheduling but still employed. I can't complaint at all.

Cons

It's retail so it's common retail problems. You have to manage your stress levels appropriately.

Pros

You get tons of gratis and getting time off for a vacation isn't an issue. You can have the schedule you want if you need it. Its a really fun place to work also!

Cons

There isn't much room to grow in this company. They like to promote from outside.

Pros

You get tons and tons and tons of gratis! Aka. Free stuff. If you stick around long enough, Sephora will train you. Brand representatives come in and train you as well. Make good partnerships with them. You can learn a lot of tips and tricks from them and its from them you get most of your training anyway. They're really nice too. Remember everyone knows everyone in the beauty industry so be on your best behavior. You can move up if you're good at office politics. Sephora has their own special language and way they do things, Which is kind of like their politics.

Cons

The pay is complete crap compared to other other retailers. If you're in color for example, you're basically doing makeup all day long for free and you're not allowed to accept tips. There's no commission. We do get bonuses based on clients taking the survey but the government takes most of that money anyway. Also if you do not pressure management for what you want for your sephora career, you won't get any where. So dont be the one who waits around to get recognized. Ask for what you want and OFTEN. Or you wont get it. Depending on the store if you teach classes or do shipment you might have to be at work at 7am....With a full face of makeup on. (But you always need to be on your A game with your makeup. Its a makeup store after all. Management might coach you if you dont)
