Pros

Working there will give you a lot of experience with the beauty industry. After you have worked there you will feel more confident. There is room for advancement and growth but you have to work very hard and the hourly pay is not that great compared to similar jobs in the area. The training that is given to you while working in Sephora is priceless, a lot of money and time is spent on trying to train the employees. Good managers will try to grow you into a manager yourself if you have the drive in you. Did I mention the free products you receive while working there? Bins and bins of free product!!!

Cons

The hourly rate is low compared to similar jobs. Some of the managers are incompetent and slide under the radar for a long time before being disciplined. It is very easy to go unnoticed for years at Sephora unless you really put yourself out there for a promotion, but I guess that is all about the drive of the individual.

Pros

The best reason to work for Sephora is the product knowledge you will gain and especially the gratis (free product).

Cons

Sephora is an unfair company when it comes to professional growth and career opportunities for its employees. I have experienced senior management discriminate on the basis that an employee was African American, another employee was a student, and a more mature employee.

Pros

Learn a lot about products with trainning from acct. excutives, a new brand comes in about twice a month and you recieve lots of gratis for participating. I love helping customers choose products and with sephora having all the diffarent brands and being an open counter, their was a favorite product in every brand and also made it possible that their was a product for eveyone.

Cons

You have to wear uniforms and they are ugly! somtimes you would be zoned in areas of the store for long periods of time, their was enough of us working that the rotaion should not have been a problem.
