Pros

The union is what makes a septa job worth while. Without them it would be eighteenth century. The wages and benefits are what should be expected in this modern world. Because public transit is a national necessity the jobs are secure.

Cons

Politics are ingrained in management due to the ceo buddy club as with many companies. This is a public non profit and should not allow these players. They think in the dark ages and are slow to implement technology much less good employee relations. Management is everything that is wrong with septa.

Nepotism and favoritism

Pros

Job security, Opportunity to work in a large organization

Cons

Nepotism and favoritism are deeply rooted in this organization, beginning right from the interview process. Without the right recommendations, it’s nearly impossible to get hired or promoted. Success here isn’t based on merit but on loyalty to management. Job responsibilities are often rewritten to ensure only their loyalists can succeed, and frequent reorganizations are used as a tool to grant raises and promotions to the same inner circle. Raising concerns is pointless—complaints are ignored because favoritism has become the norm. While non-loyal employees are told there’s a “funding crisis” to justify denying raises, management always makes sure to secure increases for themselves. Even the work-from-home policy is applied unfairly, with specific groups receiving special treatment. At B&B Engineering, top management has cemented their positions while continuously rewarding a small circle with the best projects, raises, and promotions. It operates like a monopoly that leaves no room for fairness or growth. As for racism, the record speaks for itself—just look at employee reviews and media coverage. Leadership lacks diversity and they seems to be enjoying this. Job postings are also deliberately vague and misleading, which only helps them funnel opportunities to their chosen insiders.

Pros

Steady check every two weeks

Cons

Dangerously incompetent and backwards cowardly management who are CareerBuilders who care little if anything about getting out from behind their desks to see what’s really going on
