Pros

Working with seniors and older adults is really rewarding. This is the only good thing about being employed with Sequoia Living.

Cons

Toxic management, who belittles POC staff. White privilege runs deep in this organization and ageism is deeply embedded in their day-to-day practices treating young people as less than.

Pros

This used to be a great place to work. But over the passed year and half, things have gotten really bad. There used to be compassion and caring for staff. There used to be communication and feedback and concern. I and several other employees have started our search for a new place to work.

Cons

Several of my coworkers were just told that that are going to be employed by another company. As one person said, they were traded off like goods. It was inhumane the way the company did this. Since the new management has taken over it seems like a reality show with the CEO being the star. There is no care for employees anymore just to make money. This is a really old organization with a good reputation. And now it is worse than most other companies.

Thank you for your honest and open feedback. We at Sequoia Living are sorry to hear that you are displeased with some of the recent changes. Sequoia Living made the important decision to expand its partnership with our long standing Food Service provider. In doing so we are focusing on quality and resident satisfaction. Our Food Service partner excels in culinary and dining services and operates nationally. All transitioning employees will retain the same position, years of service, and rate of pay with Sequoia Living and will gain more training and career growth opportunities in their chosen career field by becoming part of a much larger organization.

Pros

I have worked in Human Resources for more than 30 Years and spent the majority of my time directly in Human Resources. I am a new employee and the warm welcome that i experienced here during my first week was amazing, if not out of this world. I have worked in the C Suite for year and used to Executive not speaking or being truly fake, but not at Sequoia Living - Employees and well as the President of the company made it a point to seek me out and introduce themselves to me! I have never experienced such joy and sincere smiles my first week. I actually asked the questing is this real, are people really this nice and happy? and the response was Yes! You can tell that everyone here loves what they do and want to support our Seniors in our communities.

Cons

Nothing at this time that I can think of.
