Pros

Great mission of serving seniors both in low cost housing and retirement communities.  Middle mgrs and line staff at locations and home office do a good job but need better technology and processes would help to do a great job. Very hard working staff so that seniors are well taken care of.

Cons

Some Sr. Mgrs have been with company for many years and very set in their ways. They are slow to change and evaluate issues -not open to changes,  busy protecting their jobs and old ways.  Sr. Mgmt is not representative of their communities or staff- no ethnic or gender diversity among the sr. mgrs. So many middle managers and line staff have quit at the home office due to Sr. Mgrs being so out of touch with the heavy workload. Great staff have been lost.

Pros

In the communities, there is a sense of teamwork and common goal of serving the senior population with respect and dignity. Home Office management does a good job of supporting the communities. David Berg is a man of integrity and honor.

Cons

Home Office employees didn't get annual increases for a few years and can't participate in many offerings held out to other employees. No economic increases, no Holiday bonus, post-tax medical insurance deductions half the year, etc. We stay loyal to the company because we love it, but it's hard turning down much more lucrative offers elsewhere.
