      Handling Reduced Federal Government Budget

      Pros

      Serco emphasizes customer service. It's the way the company is adjusting to the sequester, and increased competition for a smaller federal budget. Emphasis is on supporting billable contracts and due to it's parent organization the potential customer base is global, not national.

      Cons

      Too much reliance on the federal government as a 'sole-source customer.' There has been a concerted effort to move into other markets, but without a long history of support.

      Pros

      Benefits package is good, but don't expect to use it.

      Cons

      Middle Management is not selected based on KSAs, Sr. Leadership is stuck in the 1950's culture. Zero collaboration, No communication, No Training for Field Employees on roll out strategy, Feeding Counselors to the wolves and encouraging hostile team environments.

      Shameful Management and Lack of Professionalism

      Pros

      Direct Deposit, Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, Short Term Disability, 401 K, and Educational Reimbursment of up to $5650 per year.

      Cons

      Gross mismanagement, hiring and promotion of unqualified people that are well liked by the Project Manager (child of a retired military friend), contract violations such as demanding work to be completed outside of work hours, retaliation of complaints for labor violations. One of my co-workers lost a baby and I overheard the Project Manager make a joke that he was going to give them a hard time "no baby no maternity leave". Just sick.
