Pros

If you land with a good team and good customers you will enjoy your work. There is also a lot of opportunity to move from contract to contract or change customers. Also a lot of corporate engagement and training if you seek it out. Senior management also is extremely accessible and makes an effort to engage unlike a lot of other companies.

Cons

Program managers of large contracts often have no idea what their folks on the ground are doing, which can be good to not be micromanaged, but also they are then not aware of how embedded and valuable you are to client. So, when it comes time for review or any bonuses, their lack of awareness results in minimal raises or additional compensation. They also need to know that "one size" doesnt fit all, because so many of the Serco workforce are second or third career professionals (retired military, govt, etc.) so asking "where do you see yourself in five years" kind of is a moot point and lacks managerial awareness for someone with 30 plus years in the workforce.

Pros

Let us work from home sometimes. That’s the only pro

Cons

Operations group is very mean constantly yells at people with little repercussions. They fired me for putting the date as 2024 on a few things in February 2025. A lot of overreacting for very small issues. Senior manager made inappropriate political comments like talking about tampons in boys bathrooms with no regard to how others may feel about those conversations at work. When employees expressed concern over low pay he said if we wanted to make more money we should start our own business. Very dismissive. They said they pay well compared to their competitors but that is simply not true. I wouldn’t waste your time here. During my time here none of the men resigned but at least 3 women on our team did. Don’t think this is the best place to work as a woman.

Pros

They offered me a job, took my personal information and turned around and said there’s no job so I will be reporting them

Cons

They offered me a job, took my Social Security number and my personal information told me to be on the lookout for the rest of my paperwork and days later they told me there was no job so it leads me to believe that they’re stealing people’s information and probably stealing people’s identity which is unacceptable And bad business
