Pros

A lot of available overtime. Bio, trauma, and bonus pays available at my location.

Cons

Each location is independently owned so could vary, but my experience was overworked for the money you were receiving. On call can be excessive and I have worked up to 75 hours in a week. They seem to hire anyone but no one at the same time and the techs I worked with were horrible and they did nothing about it. They expected me to finish projects In very tight timelines with horrible help and push the workload onto the employees when understaffed. After I became a supervisor my workload had a major increase and my pay a minor increase and I was only making a couple bucks more an hour than the techs I was working with even though your expected about double the work.

Pros

I worked here for 3 years. In that time the owners treated me excellently. They were supportive and did what they could to make sure you succeed. It’s a family owned business and individually the owners and their son are some of the most knowledgeable people in restoration that I have ever met.

Cons

Pay is kind of low for the position. / You must identify your own deals which is hard to do for many reasons. It’s a multimillion-dollar business without the processes in place to make that business running smoothly. Its still very much a family business despite the success,

Pros

Everything was butterflies and rainbows in the beginning.

Cons

I had a very disappointing experience working at Servpro Team Shaw. From the start, there was a clear lack of organization and communication from management. Expectations were often unclear, yet employees were still held accountable for issues that could have been avoided with proper guidance and leadership. The owner Derek Shaw was constantly using the word “sexy” during meetings and made several woman very uncomfortable. He would tell some of the older women to dress younger and sexier. He and his wife Gabby would constantly make the remark that we’re going to make restoration sexy. Derek had a female business partner who bought into the franchise who ultimately sued him for sexual harassment, and they settled out of court. The work environment felt stressful and unsupportive. Instead of fostering teamwork, there was a noticeable culture of blame and favoritism. Hard work and dedication often went unrecognized, while concerns raised by employees were frequently dismissed or ignored. Training was minimal, which made it difficult to succeed in the role. New employees were expected to quickly figure things out on their own without adequate support, leading to frustration and mistakes that could have been prevented. Additionally, work-life balance was poor, with long hours and little consideration for personal time. Overall, my experience left me feeling undervalued and burned out. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for a positive, growth-oriented workplace.
