Fired less than 60 days after hiring

Pros

The training itself was a month long and thorough.

Cons

Micromanagement and call listening is the basis of the company's leadership style. It is extremely regimented, and being even a minute early or late from the schedule can cause drops in your metrics. I was meeting or exceeding all metrics. I moved to a different state a month into employment, which was approved by management. They fired me less than 2 weeks after moving because we had Internet issues after moving. They didn't give me any warning or opportunity to make changes to my Internet when firing. They also made sure to fire me 3 days before my insurance kicked in, and appealed the decision when I was approved for unemployment, saying that I knowingly violated company policy by having Internet issues. I was miserable at the job before being fired, I've never worked a professional job that was so closely monitored and regimented. They claimed it was a health Coach position but it was just a call center job.

Pros

I was hired with no previous experience in HIM. I had a great supervisor and supportive team. They gave 120hrs of PTO for the year, all of it at once and available as of January 1st. We just had to be careful how we used it so that it would see us through the year.

Cons

The team I worked with was based in another state and the training was adequate, but there was so much to learn that there were always questions when coming across a new situation. This particular team wasn't always very receptive to questions and it became an issue, so I had to leave. If I can't ask questions, I can't work there. I wanted off that team rather than to leave the company, but apparently they couldn't accommodate such a request. I left after 6 months. To be fair, once the director of that unit was aware of the situation she personally reached out to me and we had a great conversation, but it was too little too late. I was given the impression that they were making some positive changes in the training process after I left.
