Pros

Good training programs; some great, talented people; good IT support; plenty of help from corporate as they are extremely top-heavy.

Cons

Horrible upper management. Break the backs of really hard working managers who actually produce results and then replace them with smooth-talking, elbow-rubbing pompous blowhards who are "yes" men. Nepotism and favoritism is a problem here. You are in the circle or you are out...not based on talent but who you are related to or go to church with (who knows?).

Pros

Ged program, tuition reimbursement, excellent training, different opportunities within one company : sales, distribution, manufacturing, and procurement. The company also has discount programs. Bonus program

Cons

Nepotism is prevalent within the company. Only people with high ranking family members are promoted quickly. It is not uncommon to see a director's family member with a 2 yr degree, not related to engineering, be placed in an engineering roles. Then promoted within a few years. The diversity in management is very limited. It is unusual to see anyone other than a white male in a manager role within manufacturing. Management styles vary different from manager to manager and plant to plant. Some places you are expected to work 60 hours a week and no comp time. While others may get comp time, or work less than 40 hours a week with 1.5 to 2 hour lunches. Within manufacturing, we have little ability to flex or times. It is mostly 7:30am to 5pm. However, in other areas of the company, people are allowed to work from home at least one day a week. Within the past few years, pay raises have been limited due to the loss in sales and market share. There is a fear within the company to say only good things about the company.

Pros

Various roles you can get plugged into as an engineering student. Great setup for the co-ops to live together in Dalton to be social after work. Depending on the supervisor/manager, hours can be flexible

Cons

No clear direction on what is expected. Lack of formal agenda and project for co-ops. I spent one rotation literally picking up donuts for executive meetings...
