Pros
It's close to my house and the people I work with are good people. The company itself is a good company. We have pretty decent benefits and I feel that my pay is in line with the market.
Cons
The environment is hard to work in. The management has no clue how to step in to any of the positions at our plant, even though the Shaw guidelines for facility managers states that they must know how to perform each position under their management. It's not good for morale when we are constantly being told that we should be able to do perform our duties faster and with more efficiency. It's laughable since this person has never done any of our jobs. This manager was in the shipping office during a lunch rush one afternoon and ended up leaving, and said he'd be back "when we weren't so busy". Rather than helping because we were short-handed, he chose to leave. All he is concerned with is "getting our numbers up". He's not at all concerned with the fact that we are people, not numbers. If he at least tried to familiarize himself with our processes, the morale would be much better.
