      Pros

      Shield is a product driven company obsessed with delivering transformative capabilities to the warfighter. Many companies claim this, few really mean it. In addition to having meaningful work, Shield has managed to hire an uncommon density of extremely intelligent, dedicated, and kind people. I think above all I’ve been blown away by the quality of the people here.

      Cons

      Working in defense comes with ambiguity and challenges to predictability. The pace is high but not overwhelming. The learning curve is steep - whether you come from a technical background or and operational one, rarely does anyone show up equally literate in the vernacular of autonomy/AI and that of our customer.

      Pros

      The work here is both challenging and rewarding. Management is very clear that they expect 50 hours a week of quality work, but there is so much interesting work to do, it feels like that time flies by. The people are engaged and talented, and there overall is just a really good culture of getting things done and doing it right.

      Cons

      The work can be challenging, and the hours can be long, at times. But overall, I find that the work is interesting enough to outweigh the amount work.
