No opportunities for promotion. Bonuses are now dependent on how the company performs, so guaranteed not to get a full bonus. Raises eventually did not keep pace with the cost-of-living. There was no budget or support for continued education or career growth. A lot of roles and services are being outsourced. There are a very large number of Directors, VPs, and managers (who are the only people who seem to ever get promotions). A lot of original upper management left the company, which created a lot of gaps, and there was no real plan to cope with that. They either promoted existing management who now have too much on their plates, or hired someone from the outside who was a 'friend'. They seem to only know how to run a business into the ground with poor management. The unlimited PTO turned into "you can't actually take unlimited PTO or else the company will take it away". Ultimately, the leadership's priority shifted to 'cut corners to make as much money as possible,' but they wouldn't identify and fix the areas where they were losing money, which resulted in several layoffs, hiring freezes, and departments/roles being reduced or eliminated.
