Pros

Great pay you don't have to stay working in one facility. You also have an option to get paid the next day I suggest do not utilize the rapid card and charges you for everything immediately transfer to your bank

Cons

It is a 1099 contract no taxes are taken out it is hard to actually get anything resolved related to shifts sometimes shifts are hard and they will bid on one you'll get to the facility and they don't even have you on a schedule and you only get paid for 2 hours

Pros

Same day/next day pay depending in place you work Select your own shifts Can bid up 2.00 on shifts Diversity and experience is gained and fast. You see such a variety of medical facilities and patients that you gain experience in a lot of fields and situations pretty quickly Meet new people, which I’d like to think is positive, even if it’s a negative experience it teaches you to deal with those scenarios Mostly the experience you gain in different fields, that can be utilized and is quite impressive after some time you build a lot of knowledge and different programs

Cons

-You can end up in some really terrible situations and put your career on the line. You have to really be observant, chart, chart and chart more & if it’s bad, always document yourself, and end of shift notify manager/DON in text for your records-** -high acuity patients and high patient ratio in most places -no orientation or training in any place, some you are lucky to get report, so be ready to count and hit the floor running. Some are great too but not often. -expect a decent drive to make a decent wage -you don’t have a boss, and most people don’t know their local contact(person in charge of sections of the us) & honestly, few care and will give you terrible advice to keep peace with the buildings they have(commission based) - some places will cancel last minute-fyi-know you are granted to two hours pay but your whole day is gone -permanent staff will not always be kind, some people have no respect for a full in nurse -RapidPay is absolutely horrible to deal with, money goes missing off those pay cards-so if you want same day, be prepared to transfer or pull cash. -ShiftKey support is hard to reach and most of the time you get a different answer from everyone -I can not stress this enough- always always document to the fullest and be sure that you know what is going on before you take those keys and accept assignment. You can leave if you do not accept how bad it is. If you end up in a sticky situation you don’t have anyone to advocate for you or your career, be fully prepared to do that alone and know the laws
