Pros

Nice office, Onsite Gym, HSA and good health benefits cost. A few great leaders and resources to help you in your career. When I started in 2022, it was awesome - positivity everywhere, high fives and cheering, free swag and snacks, growth in sales numbers and everyone was happy. In 2023, investors got involved, the industry changed and all the leadership got stressed. Then the positive culture died.

Cons

Crazy amount of turnover. Good tenured sales reps that are great culture fits are let go for questionable reasons under the guise of non-production without acknowledgement of the legitimate impact that the changing market and state regulations have on production. ShiftKey will have people in training, with no open territories, no plan, just waiting to let the tenured employees go since the new employee is a cheaper replacement. If you get put into the wrong territory or on the wrong team, it can make for a short career at ShiftKey. There are some great leaders and teams, but there are snakes in various positions throughout all levels of the company that lack character. It's like a group of high school mean girls, whispering in corners, causing a toxic workspace. There are golden territories and then there's the picked over areas that have never grown or have been in a perpetual state of decline. Your territory might have credentialing and legal issues. You might be assigned into a state that might not be 100% compliant with state laws. If you make your direct leadership aware of the issues, they might tell you that "it's not a problem until it's a problem financially for the company" and "You need to quit talking about this and just sell". At least that's what I was told. It will become a problem when state regulators find out that you have been working in the gray. Your paycheck will take a big hit because production drops off significantly and then someone is packing up your desk for you and you disappear without a trace. I grew a territory from nothing, tried to protect it, Informed every leader around me of what was going to happen, and I was ignored. I watched the state hours diminish significantly and I was walked out the door. I was a top sales rep that went on an all expense paid, company trip because of my sales in 2023 and then I was let go two months later because other people didn't make the state compliance concern a priority. It cost the company a lot of money and it cost me my job.
